NCR announces new board members

The National Catholic Reporter Publishing Co. announced the appointment of Zeni Fox and Jeanne Marie Lee as new members of its board of directors following the board’s Nov. 11-13 meeting. The new members will serve three-year terms. The additions bring the number of board members to 15.

[Fox is professor of pastoral theology at Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology at Seton Hall University, North Orange, N.J., where she was director of lay ministry for 15 years. She has more than 20 years of experience in graduate teaching as well as work experience at the parish and diocesan level.

Fox has been an adviser to the U.S. bishops’ conference subcommittee on lay ecclesial ministry and the bishops’ committee on the laity. She coedited the book Called and Chosen: Toward a Spirituality for Lay Leaders (Sheed & Ward, 2005).]

Lee and her husband Rhoady have long been active parishioners and lay leaders in the Seattle archdiocese. A student in Catholic schools from grade school through university, Lee served on the board of trustees of her high school alma mater Holy Names Academy in Seattle, Wash. She has been involved in fundraising efforts, most recently in her parish where she led an effort to raise funds for a gymnasium.

In 2002, the Lees received the Elizabeth Ann Seton Award from the National Catholic Education Association. The award honors “individuals who have made exceptional contributions to Catholic education in particular and to U.S. education in general.”
